New addition to the fleet

February 17, 2016

Very shiny! Great grooming requires great equipment (and lots of time from dedicated and skilled volunteers). This is the new addition to the grooming fleet, a brand-new Arctic Cat Bearcat. We have been grooming with Bearcats at both Moosewoods and Glebe park for several years and are very happy with their reliability, and ability to pull through all kinds of tough conditions.  This machine will replace our oldest Bearcat at Glebe park, and allow us to sell our oldest snowmobile. We want you to ski on well groomed trails, and we want the folks that start grooming before the sun comes up to know that the machines will work as hard as they do.Bearcat

Help us get Moosewoods open!

February 4, 2016

After the rain and the warm temps, the trails at Moosewoods are still mostly snow (very hard snow) covered. Unfortunately, they are also stick-covered. We need as many folks as possible, armed with leaf rakes, to help clear the sticks so we can groom the snow. Interested? Meet at Moosewoods tomorrow, Feb 5, at 10 AM. Bring a leaf rake if you have it. We will have a few there for rakeless folks.” Need more info? email Thom at singingdog1@gmail.com.

Ski free at Kawartha Nordic

January 7, 2016

Our good friends at Kawartha Nordic are happy to welcome you to a free day of skiing on their trails. In a reciprocal agreement between HHNTA and Kawartha Nordic, your seasons pass is good for one free day of skiing on the excellent trails maintained by the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club. Just show your yellow button at the trailhead, or sign in during self-serve hours and note that you are a HHNTA season pass holder.

We are happy to welcome their season pass holders for a free day of skiing as well. If you see some folks from KNSC, make sure you give them a Haliburton welcome (minus the moose call and the Scottish dancing bit).
